Some of the earliest collected editions also bore the shorter series title. When originally published, the series was simply titled Batman: The Dark Knight, with a different subtitle for each issue ( The Dark Knight Returns, The Dark Knight Triumphant, Hunt the Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Falls), but when the series was collected into a single volume later that year, the title of the first issue was applied to the entire series, and has remained so ever since. The story also features the return of classic foes Two-Face and the Joker, and culminates with a confrontation with Superman, who is now a pawn of the government. It tells an alternative story of Bruce Wayne, who at 55 years old returns from retirement to fight crime and faces opposition from the Gotham City police force and the United States government. The Dark Knight Returns (alternatively titled Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) is a 1986 four-issue comic book miniseries starring Batman, written by Frank Miller, illustrated by Miller and Klaus Janson, with color by Lynn Varley, and published by DC Comics.

5/12/2023 0 Comments Such a fun age reviewI found Emira’s perception of the adult world in monetary terms – and specifically an obsession with Health Insurance – uncomfortable. The novel revolves around these two women and they are both deeply flawed. Briar’s mother, Alix Chamberlain, is a hyper-privileged middle class white woman, making a living through being an influencer, I suppose, on social media and a motivational speaker and a writer. Let’s focus on the plot: Emira Tucker is a twenty-five year old African-American who is somewhat drifting through life, not quite able to settle into an allegedly adult life, but who has found some peace and comfort in her job as a baby sitter (cum nanny cum child minder, the name and label are potent) through the delightful child Briar. A novel which is almost good, almost dealt with its topic and theme effectively, is so much harder to review than a novel which was just bad. I have been holding fire on reviewing this book for a few weeks because it is a – a difficult, problematic novel in my view. I need you to be mad that it just like… happens.” “I don’t need you to be mad that it happened. 5/12/2023 0 Comments Summary of the one thing bookIt relaxes you and it trains you to stay focused on a single task. Dark alleys, undead bodies and bountiful blood will cause shivers, while Chloe’s chemistry with both boys will raise readers’ pulses. Teens grappling with their own transformations and alienating individuality will certainly follow these characters to the book’s final pages and into the next volume. Armstrong’s vermiculate plot will exhilarate even readers new to the series, although they will miss the crucial character development found in The Summoning (2008). Giridharadas calls this prevailing ethos “MarketWorld,” made up of people who want “to do well and do good.” He beautifully catches the language of Aspen, Davos and the recently extant Clinton Global Initiative, which will doubtless reappear in the newly born Bloomberg initiative. The chief executive of Cinnabon thinks that being transparent about the fat and sugar she peddles offsets the harm her company creates. The Sacklers helped create the opioid crisis but give money to important causes. In a series of chapters centered on different individuals who are part of this rarefied class, Giridharadas exposes the rationalizations of the 0.001 percent who actually believe they are making the world a better place. I suggest they might want to read a copy of this book while in the Hamptons this summer. For those at the helm, the philanthropic plutocrats and aspiring “change agents” who believe they are helping but are actually making things worse, it’s time for a reckoning with their role in this spiraling dilemma. 5/10/2023 0 Comments Imago by N.R.
